Whether it is the Loch Ness Monster or a 30-foot Great White Shark hungrily searching for surfers, our waters are steeped in myth. However, most people today don’t believe this folklore, so why do many boaters believe boat insurance myths?

Have you ever found yourself in a conversation with a veteran boater or a boat salesperson, nodding your head knowingly as they spoke, without having a clue what they’re talking about? Nautical jargon fills the air, and it’s like trying to understand a foreign language – you’re totally lost. The following is a brief overview of some of the most common terms in the boating vernacular to assist in building your nautical-speak vocabulary.

One of the great things about the Express Cruiser design is that you’ll have a tremendous amount of versatility. Of course, they are built for comfort while you’re cruising and entertaining, but you can also enjoy watersports and fishing.

I don’t know about you but, my boat didn’t come cheap and as my seats and carpet get worn and faded, I still want my rig to look sharp on the water and at the ramp but more important is the improved level of comfort from having new instead of the road hard and put away wet option. Replacing the old seats isn’t a tough job.

In late summer of 1967 I moved to northern Illinois from Virginia. I had never heard of a Boston Whaler. I boat to fish, and in northern Virginia my wonderful Sport Yak II suited the waters I fished. I had heard of the Pacific salmon stocking program in the Great Lakes, though, and had some ambitions to fish for these great gamefish.
