Stupid Human Boating Tricks
After a good night of fishing, we both limited out on yellowtails, and discovered a new . . . "leak", that’s a whole new story in itself - for another time. Anyway back to MY SHT. So we get back to the dock, retrieve the boat, clean the boat, flush the motor, clean the fish, wash all the gear down, put everything away, and part ways. (keep in mind, this is a 15ft flats boat with a 85 horsepower johnson, being towed by a 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera FWD 4 cylinder - never had a problem at any ramp in 3 years of owning it).

Insurance Corner | HURRICANE TO-DOs – ARE YOU READY?
Sponsored content by NBOA Marine Insurance
As the hurricane season churns into full swing, it is important to prepare yourself, your family, and your boat for the worst. Please read our top ten things to do before a hurricane comes your way.
Winds, during any hurricane, can exceed 100 mph and tornadoes are often associated with these storms. Above all, safeguard human life. Climate experts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) continue to predict active Atlantic Hurricane seasons in the coming years. We could experience several named storms each year, a few of which may have the potential to become major hurricanes. These predictions reinforce the need for boaters in hurricane-prone regions to have preparation plans in place. Boat owners and the marine community should take proactive measures to minimize the potential for injuries and damage to their boats and other property. Remember, key factors in protecting your boat from hurricanes or any severe storm are planning, preparation and timely action.

Boat Buyer's Guide | New Boat or Used Boat?
Sponsored Content by Bayliner
Boating is supposed to be fun. It is an opportunity to commune with nature, to reacquaint yourself with your family, or to re-capture your youth among friends. Having a reliable boat and engine can mean the difference between a weekend you’ll remember forever and one you’d like to forget. Buying a new boat removes some of the risk of mechanical failure and financial exposure you may encounter with a used boat. Ultimately, there’s significant value in the peace-of-mind associated with the reliability a new Bayliner affords and the support of your local dealer when your friends and family are on board.
If buying new is just not in the cards for you, your Bayliner dealer also has access to demonstration units and trade-in models that can help you get into a slightly used boat while still enjoying dealer support. Ultimately, your Bayliner dealer wants you to enjoy boating so much that you’ll be back to buy an even bigger model when the time comes.

Red Sky at Night with JB Cornwell | Uncle Jim
There was no end to the exciting stories Jim told of his years as a seaman and the exotic ports he visited. He even alluded to a wife in several tales. The thing that confused me about that was that the "wife" seemed to be in several ports... It didn’t occur to me at the time that there may have been several wives.
