Be smart when you shop —avoiding Scams
- Be cautious of deals that look to good to be true
- Make sure they has and is willing to provide good contact information including email, physical address (not just a P.O. box), phone #, etc.
- Suggest if they don’t offer it that there be some sort of 3rd party secured payment service involved especially if you are giving your CC# on the internet.
- Be cautious buying or sending payment to a seller that is vague with giving information
- Be cautious if the boat is in a different state than the seller
- ALWAYS check out the person or companies FIRST before sending any money, get a physical address if they only have a p.o. box listed.
- If it is a company you are working with check with the Better Business Bureau in their area.
- Above all, use common sense. If a deal sounds too good or feels funny for any reason it probably is.
