Built by Skookum Boat Works in Port Townsend, Washington. Designed by Ed Monk Sr., these boats were custom finished over a full keeled hull. This boat has undergone all but a complete refit since 1999. She is a rare raised salon center cockpit ketch with hardtop, hard windshield and soft sides. A fore and aft cabin layout with walk in engine room. The boat has 80+ head room throughout. It's a motor sailer that is all cockpit operated. This boat is a very heavy and comfortable live aboard, and an exceptional world cruiser. Set up, tested and ready to spend long extended periods at sea.
Skookum's were originally designed for the swordfish fleet of commercial fishing crafts that had to sail so far off the Pacific Northwest Coast... that they had to be sailboats vs. power! So youre getting a boat that is setup to provide for the rigors of daily hardcore use (commercial use with a sparkling charm). This boat is about 90% complete, all she needs is cosmetics and running rigging to be finished and worth much more! Originally hailing in Alaska, this beautiful boat has been in Portland since 1990.
