And that’s just mechanical!  There’s more but in case you do not know this boat that well, when you need to get to the engine room for either routine maintenance or something more involved, you won’t be stuck in a little crevice breaking your back (and your knuckles) on this vessel.  Very simply, the salon carpet lifts out and the entire floor opens up by two pneumatic-piston assisted doors for AIR CONDITIONED STAND-UP ENGINE ACCESS.  There’s no furniture to move either.  Quick access to the engine can be made through the lazarette for inspection and to check your fluids.

The twin Caterpillar 3116 engines are in excellent condition and are just broken in at around 1100 hrs each; which means you don’t need to worry about surprises here either. Sometimes buyers may feel that low hours on an older boat is a gift but often are sadly mistaken.  Older boats with low hours often times are that way because their poor engine performance precludes using them, therefore fewer hours.  Also, the more a boat sits unused, all the more problems she develops.  SENSATION’s engines were recently inspected and found to be well within Caterpillar specifications with regard to “blow by” and oil analysis.  With basic maintenance you can expect these engines to perform beautifully for many years to come.

The noise level on these engines is minimal for diesels.  While at the bridge, a rev on the throttle is hardly perceivable and its underwater exhaust system, while underway, makes for a pleasant ride where you can talk AND enjoy your music at the same time.

The sound system for this boat is terrific.  On the bridge, there are two high performance 3-way Sony speakers with a 300 watt subwoofer; hence crystal clear music at all levels.  Two Sony speakers are found in the cockpit, the salon and the master suite with a fader.  There is a multi-CD disc changer, KVH satellite TV and radio on board as well.

Inside the salon, the ambience is very classy with beautiful new high grade carpet (November 2006), color coordinated taupe upholstery, gold and silver hardware and both direct and indirect lighting.  Natural light is controlled with the forward window canvas, custom side window and salon door drapes.

For you and your overnight guests, there are two roomy cabins and two heads; each with a walk-in shower. The Vacu-Flush system works great and the holding tank is large enough for several months of use without odor.  A convenient tank monitor is located in each head as well.  All “grey” water flow to a central system with extremely easy access and is sealed to control odor and accidental overflow.

The galley is in the center of action and storage is abundant.  There is a large pantry, under floor storage and under-counter lazy Susan.  The built-in appliances are in “like-new” condition.

Access to the bridge is via a lighted, molded staircase. The bridge can comfortable seat 9 persons with storage under the seats for life vests, charts and flares.  For the captain, docking and maneuvering is effortless. Navigation control systems are redundant.
There are;
o 3 working GPS’s (no dead equipment on board)
o an excellent Furuno radar with chart plotter
o NEW (November 2006) Si-Tex ColorMax 11 (10.4” screen) chart plotter with depth sounder and new C-Map MAX cartography.  Features an innovative new grounding alert system to alert the captain of approaching charted obstructions.  Includes video display for full color video of the transom while backing down.
o VHF radio with hailer (new horn)
o Auto pilot links to the chart plotter that follows a route of multiple waypoints
o Secondary depth sounder
o Windlass control
o Spot light control
o Full enclosure Eisenglas that easily folds down and out of the way.

In closing, the Sea Ray 400 Sedan Bridge has always been a favorite among those who have had time on the vessel.  Among all others, this one is special.  Ask for an opportunity to see her and you won’t be disappointed.

The owner is moving out of the country, so he must sell!! At first glance, from the dock she looks like a new boat, but deeper inspection reveals her true value.

The value lies in the fact that this high quality vessel in is excellent condition; inside and out. Yet you can own it for less than half of its replacement value of $550,000; making this boat, by far, the best value in pre-owned motor yachts. From the bilge to the gel coat, this boat is as good as it gets.

Typically, buying a used boat has its surprises. Even if every apparent flaw was accounted for during the purchase, getting it repaired becomes a challenge. If you have ever dealt with a boat yard, you know what I mean. Does the bill EVER come out as promised? Just the fact that a yard has your boat while you maintain the mortgage, dock fees and insurance can be daunting.

The bottom line is that SENSATION will not disappoint even the most fastidious buyer. She’s fully functional, clean, polished, has a great dependable mechanical system and is BEAUTIFUL.
