HISTORY
After charter of a Catamaran in Turkey we decided that one can't compare the comforts on a Catamaran to those of a Mono-hull.
Being on even keel, sailing fast, draft that enables you to enter places where most Mono-hulls don't (like Rio Dulce in Guatemala), No need for a stabilized Cooker or complicated Lashing except for extreme situations, food doesn't fly out of pots and pans, even sitting on the toilet or taking a shower and putting on the foul weather gear are much much easier on a Catamaran.
Another factor is when you're at the Navigation table or the Salon or Galley; you're still in Company with the rest of the crew and with the watch outside.
We sold our House and Mono-hull and came to live aboard the vessel in great comfort.
We sailed long voyages the last one was 22000 miles from the Eastern Med. To the Atlantic, Caribbean Islands, Central America (Honduras, Guatemala and Belize), Mexico, Bahamas, Bermuda, Azores and then Back to Israel with no problems except for routine maintenance.
During the voyage we encountered 7 gales, one was quiet severe and seeing the vessel in those very high seas made us appreciate very much the design that enables such a light vessel survive those conditions. Even in following seas, she handled the waves excellently and the smart heading sensor (in the autopilot) kept her on course without any need for manual steering even once during the voyage.
The construction of the bows and the way she slides down in following seas gave me great confidence in her ability to avoid being Pitch poled.
We're ready to depart from the vessel because of our obligations to our family. We do it painfully and hope the new owner will be able to appreciate all her exceptional qualities when sailing.
