Evinrude E70TLCRD owner.

Have paid for servicing in the past, but am going to do the 'easy' stuff for now on.

I'm about to change the gearcase oil, spark plugs and perform an engine tune up. I have everything that I need to perform these services.

My question:

Should I apply Permatex Anti Seize Lubricant on the gearcase plug-screws? And on the spark plugs?

Thanks, just couldn't find any info on the interwebs regarding that.

A little anti seize never hurt anything. Especially when metal is screwing into aluminum.

No! It is a mixture of aluminum, copper and graphite. Copper is a known contributor to corrosion of aluminum. On the Permatex website, it is recommended for spark plugs, heads and exhaust in marine usage. All of these are usually steel/iron.

I wouldn't use a copper based anti-seize on anything aluminum.

Anything on the sparkplug threads could reduce their ground contact and thus spark

Thanks for the advice.

I will not use.

I've noticed, after watching several YouTube videos, that they were not using anti-seize lubricant either.

Once again, thank ya.

Love this forum.
