How critical is the rubber seal around the prop hub

I have a merc 650 with a leaking foot. I pulled the prop and the two seals and one looks indented. Everything is still pretty greasy and the foot oil wasn't that foamy. Should I go through the foot? Impeller and the rest of it or just put new seals in it and run it. The rubber on the inside of the prop hub is worn as well.Any suggestions?

Reseal the gearcase and pressure test it. IF it passes you are fine...if it still fails proceed to do the rest of the seals.<br /><br />As for the prop..does it slip? <br /><br />TMD
