clicking sound when i put motor in reverse. it seems to run fine in forward. i hit a submerged object 3-4 weeks ago. put on new prop. now this problem. 40 hp yamaha, 1986 model 40 ejl 3 cyl. thanks.
propeller seems to spin on shaft after hitting object. i put engine in gear and now i hear a clicking sound when i turn prop in forward direction. i took prop off but that is a far a it seems i can go without unbolting lower unit. this is my first time. thank you. i need to get this fixed...
