    can i run my 30 without the thermostat?

    i have no water coming out of my johnson 30 and i just replaced the pump. i removed the thermostat and it looks seized up. so can i reinstall the plate without the thermostat to try the engine before buying a new thermostat?

    how much play is acceptable on the prop shaft on a merc 30 ? right now i have .25" play with the prop removed

    installing driveshaft on johnson 30 '89

    my manual states thet in order to insert the driveshaft in the lower unit the lower unit needds to be taken apart in order to align the splines!!! is this true? I accidently removed the driveshaft while replacing my impeller please help
