E10RCNS 9.9 1982 evinrude lower unit seal kit

Local dealers here are $195 to $250 per hour. I'm lucky because Seaway Marine is right up the street and I know the family who owns it. By the way, they are not a boneyard even though it says that in the information above all these posts. Pretty sure they have the largest stock world wide...

E10RCNS 9.9 1982 evinrude lower unit seal kit

Rule of thumb here is buy OEM when it's available. Pretty sure you will only need a few simple parts. Crosbyman will come along shortly and give you a nice color coded parts breakdown of what you need. He has one and I'm pretty sure he got married to it!🤓

Agreed, always, always, best to stay stock...but what a learning experience for the original poster and by luck it may work out.

    Revolution limiter

Well Evinrude made a 2 HP in 1999 and Crosby ask the right questions. Maybe I'm wrong but the poster needs to start with all the information so everyone can give him the right answer. Please feel free to correct me. Cheers.

1984 Johnson J6SLCRM Water Pump Access?

Vic, your expertise in this thread is very respected. Matt I agree with all of the above instructions and it's carefully written. I hope nobody is disrespected, but to further clarify make sure not to get any grease on the top of the drive shaft so when you re-install the lower unit it doesn't...

1984 Johnson J6SLCRM Water Pump Access?

Yes, More bolts to remove the 5 inch extension the water pump will be exposed. Lots of Internet stuff on finishing that job.

    Evinrude 130

Because your motor will run better at lower speeds and pollute less. It's a win, win, win.....motor likes it, mother nature likes it and your pocket book likes it. Reliable pump, backed up with alarms ( must understand the alarm system and always make sure it's working ) and is easy, cheap...

    Evinrude 130

A learning we will go. I will never know why anyone would remove a vro on those engines.

Engine cutting off high rpm .

Two posts, the same thing in the head man and I boats says it's a bad omen. I'd have to say I disagree but he's the head man. Please refer back to my prior post. The hell with the motor do you trust the person in front of you.

    2000 70 hp

Basically you're overthinking it here, if the numbers are decent and they're not exactly around the 10%. I wouldn't worry about it. But that's just me. Compression means that most of the mechanical parts are working correctly, what that motor needs is to be double checked and then taken out and...

    carburetor swap

I'm a general contactor and have been one since 1989. I remember all the years going down to the building department to look at plans on that wonderful machine. Thinking back on it now I'm glad we have it but what a complete waste of time compared to today's modern standards. The only...

    Trim problems

Had that same issue (been awhile) and the Cro's helped me thru that. Another common prob is the tilt mechanism will make a screech type noise going down sounding like you need a new or need to clean an internal bushing. There is an easy fix for this common problem. Let us know if this is an...

battery charging issue has me stumped

That works on say an older car engine....but not a self generating outboard. Also, not good for anything with a computer. By the way, to the original poster, and as "the Crosbyman" always says, "No Wing Nuts"!

    96 j150exedb. Water pump

I boat in salt, so at the end of every season after flushing I pull the stats and replace or put them in a small cup of salt away. No flow at the tell tail (pisser) means bad pump or draw tube, no engine flow means overheat. Right now you don't know either. Just do the steps and you will find...
