How do you track hours on your outboard?

What would be the easiest way of tracking how many hours I put on my outboard? Mine is a 73 mercury so I really cant hook it up to my Lawrence HDS 7 to monitor the outboard performance. Does it also count when the outboard is on in idle? Thanks Zipp

Re: Lower Unit Oil hello again, Just got back from the Mercury dealer. They told me to use the following SEA 80W-90. They said I "should be good" with this bottle. I also released the bad oil from the lower unit. Since this is my firs time doing this I was told here on another thread to look...

Will this oxidized painted aluminum hull clean up?

Re: Will this oxidized painted aluminum hull clean up? I used this product to clean up the yellow water stains on my aluminum hull. As for buffing it I would say you can use any automotive product, but Im sure someone here will be able to tell you what exactly to use :)

    OUtboard Question

Hello... When you get ready to store your boat for winter is it necessary to run the outboard on ear muffs once a month? I store mine in the Garage so that wouldn't be an issue but I'd rather not disturb the neighborhood with my older 2-stroke if I don’t have to. Thanks Zipp

    Trailer issues

Re: Trailer issues ok I am over thinking this by a lot. This time I did it right. This is how it looks now. Still not 100% leveled but looks to me better then it was before. If it needs to be more up I could probably find some 1/4" thick steel that I could bolt on an extension about 2" if need...

Re: Trailer issues Question? Why use a peace of steal that is in a 90 degree angle? I understand that only one side will have holes that will hold it in place.. Could I use this instead? Or should I look for a square tube some place?

    Trailer issues

Re: Trailer issues Ok so I have moved the front roller 12" back and added another roller in the middle of the trailer. When I did that the boat came off the bunks a little in the front (first 12" or so). Next thing is getting the new bunks installed and raised to the right levels so that is...

    Trailer Bunks Carpet

Hi All, I was wondering if I could use regular carpet from home depot to cover the 2x4's or should I use a specialized carpet for this purpose. I saw some bunk carpet that bass pro sells but it looks like its a regular carpet with a rubber coating on the inside... Which should I use? Thanks Zipp

    Trailer issues

Re: Trailer issues So currently for me to add another roller I would need to raise the bunks about 2", because currently the clearance between the bottom of the hull and the trailer is 1 3/4". I am assuming the brackets that the bunks sit on can be purchased that will allow me to raise that up 2".
