Replacing old 2 stroke with newer 4 stroke advice?

2 Strokes generally will out accelerate a 4 stroke by a long shot. Could explain why basic Waterskiing now requires 150+hp, where a 50hp 2stroke used to do it

    Glastron contact details?

I own one. There are voids where the Glass is completely dry, no Resin. Mine had a complete Transom Delamination. Glastron did F**k All, so much much for their Bull Fecal Matter Lifetime Warranty. Open Mold, with hand laid Glass and Resin, sees Glass saturated with Resin.

Replacing old 2 stroke with newer 4 stroke advice?

More cost effective to just replace the worn Gear and Clutch Dog. Even with the 25 extra Horsepower, be prepared to be Underwhelmed when it comes to Acceleration. Your 90 would have been across the lake and back before the 4 stroke gets up on plane Another feature of that super sweet beautiful...

1962 evinrude 40 hp steering help

I gave you parts list for the engine. I used the Johnson version for the majority of it, as that site didn't have an Electric Shift Evinrude, then I included the Evinrude Control box from the 1963 listing. As for steering systems, contacting a Local Marine Dealer would be a Option. Teleflex...

1962 evinrude 40 hp steering help

Looks like an Electric Shift Model, you are going to need the proper Evinrude or Johnson Control Box. a 62 also requires a Junction Box Parts Lists. Says Johnson, but only the Cowl and Remote is different. They didn't have a Listing for the Electric Shift Evinrude. I will include the Control...

Oil change interval, synthetic or no, curious what we all do

I just wait for the Oil Monitor Light to come on, or if equipped, the Oil Life% to hit 0, with certain Caveats. The car with the Change Oil Light was speced for Dino Oil, and it goes a long time. Since I have always used Syn, I go a few extra thousand before changing, it now has over 300,000 on...

    Motor swap, back and forth.

In Canada, Lakes and Rivers are Federal Jurisdiction, so the rules apply nationwide, the Provinces, and Municipalities really can't do much. One time the County tried to restrict launching on Weekends to motors of less than 25hp, that was in 1986. When a county cop waved me in and told me I...
