1968 20hp Johnson leaking unburnt fuel into water

What kind of fuel tank? Portable or boat mounted? Fuel lines, bilge, does boat leak? Cheap 2 stroke oil....mixing it correctly....I could go on and on and on. Moral, if you can't fix it and it runs good.....run it or buy a new motor, possibly electric.

leaking lower unit, 1963 Gale Sea King (OMC) 15hp

What vacuum pressure did you put on it and how long did it last? Did you check for water in the gearcase? Water goes in more than oil ever comes out. Still very well could be 2 stroke oil, water and unburnt gas....that concoction makes some awful goopy stuff. Those older motors require a...

Upper mid- section bolts/ nuts corroded - 1997 60HP Johnson

Tough one from the chair. Penetrating oil, heat and time and out it comes. Very common issue. Or....just run it. I believe it's safe for now. (Refer to the first line)

    Mystery engine

Manual primer is 85ish or newer and superior in every way to a choke. Learn how to use it. Best to get it idling well and not long (water pump/coolant flow). If it checks out stop, compression check and full evaluation of outboard. Great outboard but might have to De-Frankenstein some things...

    Mystery engine

Carb with plastic parts is from a newer engine. The motor is a Frankenstein.

    Blew my regulator rectifier today

You have two choices, replace everything you think is wrong or test each component and replace what actually IS wrong. Either way is fine and the Internet has much information.

Fuel pump for 4.5 HP Johnson

Like race says, could be many things... Mix some outboard oil with gas in a small fuel grade spray bottle (50 to 1)? And spray in carb throat when acting up. Did that correct it? Fuel pump is normally not random. Sinister piece of floating debris zipping through the carb laughing at you...
