    Evinrude 1994 150

If your running mixed gas you shouldn't have any undiluted oil in there. Post pictures of every side of the engine focusing on the vro pump. Is the oil bottle still in the boat?

    Evinrude 1994 150

Did you read and answer all of Racerone's responses. Oil related. Don't run the motor. Might want to do a compression test now. His most serious question, are you putting in 50/1 gas in your tank or relying on your oil pump? This is an oil related issue, hence the oil alarm. Simple to fix...

1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

From what I remember, the red valve is to be used when hand pulling a motor with a low battery. In my old 90 if it was cold....it didn't really work but if even slight warm I could get it running. Those were the days when my young strong arm could complete the task. Not sure about today or if I...

    Unsure of year model

Remove cowling. (Outboard cover), take picture of engine. Or follow where it pees out...the rubber hose where it goes into the engine (block). I'm wondering, do you not speak English? Something weird here. Good luck with your motor.

something new coming in electric OB

I hate to wake up the horse...... Definitely high on the cool factor, but pricy. Constantly looking more feasible. https://www.boatingmag.com/boats/mercury-avator-20e-and-35e-electric-outboards/

    Unsure of year model

What racerone means, does the tell tale exit the block off the side or off the top of the block....that's the service upgrade. Remove cowling and post pictures. Could be a stolen motor, be careful.

I'm going to call it an 80's motor.

1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

If you want to gently poke something up there your most likely not going to hurt anything, if it unplugs something you will need to remove the carbs and clean/rebuild or if you do my test it might lead you on to the oil problem. Check or discover, diagnose, fix....move on. I wish I could...

    New motor!

I have an e-tec....because I fish and boat mainly in Puget Sound (don't know where that is? Look it up, Puget Sound in Washington state) and the Pacific Ocean I mainly troll with my big motor. I always have a "kicker" next to the big motor just in case the ocean wants to slam me into big jagged...

    2001 Ficht 150 Evinrude

Check valve issue would explain it, did you flush it out with some simple green or other de-greaser? Maybe it's just slow to drain out and sticking to existing carbon. How does the motor run?

    New motor!

Hopefully it's a tame river, wouldn't want to rely on that little beauty in a " hey I think we are going over the falls" condition! Smaller size craft I hope ?

    Help identifying this carburetor.

Looks like a dirty, old, corroded motor. Carbs are cheap, very easy to buy a parts motor for $100....easy peasy. Your going to need one.

    Trying to find more information.

I don't drink alcohol either but when working on these older motors I think about drinking again, especially when I snap off a stainless steel bolt. I do sniff ether from time to time and that seems to help! I look forward to monitoring this thread. 😎
