    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Just to update this. It seems that despite the fact I paid the engine shop to set the timing for me, the timing is way off.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

This isn't the first one I have replaced. Seems like every time I try and run my boat at home I have to replace the impeller. I bought a whole water pump kit again, don't think I'll even try and start it at home again, I'll just run it at the lake tomorrow.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Okay I will check that. Currently I am dealing with a disintegrated impeller. Water pressure isn't good at my house not sure if that's a factor. First one was jammed up and the belt wouldn't rotate. Had been meaning to replace the belt anyways so got a new one and still nothing. Pulled the water...

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Fuel pressure when running at idle didn't change from the previous picture. Until I disconnected the line then it went up just over 30.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

I was not able to see any markings on this. Access isn't very good in that area

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

From pictures I have seen I think it's a gen 2 cool fuel unit. But will confirm that later on today when I am back at the boat.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Fuel pressure this was key on engine off, with the vacuum line still connected. It would spike higher when I first hit the key then settle back to this point.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Okay so here is the computer that's in the boat.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Given it had only been on the boat a couple of weeks and maybe an hour run time, I did reuse the fuel filter yes.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Hmm okay. It's one of the only things I can think of that's actually different from before the swap. It'll be a few hours before I am able to update with what ecm it has.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

It doesn't have a tee fitting it just went straight to the fuel unit. It was never connected the entire time I had it, so is that 2 to 3 psi enough to cause issues?

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Okay I will update when I have a look at one. If it helps it will rev up in neutral easily enough. Also not sure if this matters or not. There had been a small rubber vent line coming out of the bottom of the throttle body that didn't seem to go to anything, when I put the motor back in it...

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

I seem to recall seeing about 25 psi on the rail with the key switched on but engine off. I never thought to look while I was under way but next time out I will check it. A previous owner has installed a fuel pressure gauge on the rail somewhere along the way. Next time out I will have someone...

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

I never had it unfortunately. I can say that it has what I believe is the thunderbolt 5 ignition and the MEFI 3 or 4 fuel injection if that helps.

    Mercruiser 350 poor performance

Okay so the boat is a 2002 Calabria Pro V with a fuel injected mercruiser 383 in it. Present issue is very poor performance. From a stand still I can't get full throttle on it. It seems to perform better if I roll into the throttle slow and only up to maybe 3/4 throttle. It still hits a wall at...

    restoring faded gelcoat

Re: restoring faded gelcoat So you think this is basically just a gimmick product? What would be recommended to bring some shine back to my seadoo? I attached a picture of what I'm working with.

    restoring faded gelcoat

I have a 95 Seadoo with some faded gelcoat that I would like to restore. I've done some researching and I get opinions and how to's that are all over the place with what to do. I came across this product which looks good if it works, it's called Shine On B.C. I'm wondering if anybody has used...

    1976 Mercury Thunderbolt 150

I have a 76 Mercury 150, it currently has 0 compression in the #3 cylinder and 30 in another. Last time out it dropped a cylinder and started running terrible. I figure it needs a rebuild but i don't know if this motor is worth it. If it is even worth rebuilding, or if it is even rebuildable...
