    1992 30hp prop seals

Leave the A (forward) bevel gear in there. It's retained by the pinion (B) gear, anyway. After replacing the propshaft seal and installing the new o-ring, reassemble the whole prop shaft assembly, including the push rod. If you have an A4, you also need the ball bearing. Then insert the complete...

    1992 30hp prop seals

    1. Tohatsu/Nissan motors are serviced based on model/serial, not year. If you have a ball bearing in there you likely have a 30A4. The A3 usually did not have one. 2. The prop shaft housing is aluminum, not steel. It goes in and out as a unit, fully assembled, including the push rod. So after...

    tohatsu 40 hp alarms on

Sounds like you need a Factory service manual at the least, and possibly some local expert help. How did you test the oil sensor? Did you note the change in resistance when the tank was empty vs when it was full? In the wiring component diagram, the overheat sensor is item 21.

Here is the parts diagram. The power head will come off (yes, you want a new base gasket for reassembly), and drop the LU so you can see what you are doing.

    MFS9.9B2 Swivel friction

Dot, I believe that your motor has the "co-pilot" steering friction lever. That is a friction clamp at the front of the motor. The lever operates a nylock nut (13) about 1/4 turn. It applies "brakes" (7) to the co-pilot plate (8) as the nut is tightened. I personally like that system, but some...

2 Strokes Tohatsu 8 HP Gear Problems.-

It must have a cam rod and cam, coupled to a shift rod... Unless the LU is an ancient Merc version with rotating shift. No stopper on the Tohatsu versions. You could have a cracked gear. Sounds like the LU is in N when the shifter is in R.

2006 Tohatsu 18 carbed 4 stroke, hard starts, fuel under cowl, and leaking out of TB

Yes. There is a heater and a wax capsule. When powered from cold, the heater causes the wax to expand and push the needle out. This takes a few minutes. Yes, it is 12v. Again, if you are overflowing the carb, the needle and seat was not shutting off fuel.

Tohatsu MFS25 Engine Overheat Alarm Wiring

OK, so your motor is from around 2002. At the motor end, you have two sensors which will cause alarms: the overheat (41 in the diagram) and the oil pressure (32). If either is grounded, you will go into alarm. Also, the ECU will trigger an alarm if you rev too high. FWIW, on Tiller models, the...

Tohatsu MFS25 Engine Overheat Alarm Wiring

First, we should have your actual model, and the exact kind of RC box you have. Could be MFS25A (carbureted) or B (original EFI) or C (current production). It would also help to know whether you have PTT, which would be noted in the full model number. The 302 refers to the kind of key. Your key...

    Help Identifying OMC E2951285

I have an old apparently 2-stroke 1-cylinder OMC outboard. It has only wind-it-around rope start (no recoil), a small integral metal fuel tank. U-shaped plastic cowl/cover that attaches both to the carb and the tank mount. Start-in-gear type, and a flat bar tiller handle (broken off). I would...

Nissan NSF 9.9B2 wiring ?CDI problem

The kill wire from the CD is brown. When that grounds (to the black at the kill switch), the ignition kills. It's good practice to run the carb dry unless you know that you will be running the next day. If fuel sits in the carb for a week or two, evaporation will leave varnishing in the carb...

    identifying M50D part

The throttle cable terminates at the advancer arm, (1) in the diagram.. At the top of the advancer arm is a link rod (15) that connects to the throttle cam (7). That is on the same sleeve (collar) with the advancer lever (8). The advancer lever operates a link (16) to the magneto.
