    Gas causes mold to form

Household Bleach works pretty good at killing mold. Be careful on soft surfaces, as it can remove color. Pressure washers also have mold killing solutions that can be used. They are likely cousins of bleach.

    Gas causes mold to form

I have the black stuff on the outside of the gas tanks. I live on the water, so the air is pretty moist. On a related note, products like Startron claim to kill mold in gasoline, however, I have never even heard of that. Diesel fuel can grow mold, but not gasoline, in my experience.

    Gas causes mold to form

Any mold inside the tank where the gasoline is actually kept? I have never seen that. Even plastic tanks sweat, and mold spores are everwhere. use some bleach on the exterior of the tank, let her sit a bit and then hose off.

    1999 Force/Merc 75HP 3 Cylinder 2-Stoke Rough Running Issues

Check fuel pump diaphragm for a hole. If it has one, it will flood the cylinders with raw fuel. Using a paperclip on the carb jets is very bad, as it can easily change the size of them. You might see if you damaged them.

    2106 Merc 60hp

Is that a 17 foot aluminum runabout? If so, and you don't overload it, it will plane and a bit more, I would think. What is max power rating?

    Pumping out oil from dipstick

Gee, I used to drain it into the bilge, and let it flow out the garboard drain into the oil catch pan. It left a little oil residue in the bilge, which cleaned up easily with a few sprays of purple stuff and a blast from the hose. It sure beat having an oily pump and hose laying around......

Gear oil leak from water intake

Clean and grease the driveshaft and shift shafts, before removing old seals. This will protect the new seals when you install them. Cleaning can be done with turpentine, if grease, or fine sandpaper if corrosion is present. Lubricate with grease or oil.

Gear oil leak from water intake

That is usually a symptom of the driveshaft seal (under the water pump base), or the shift seal leaking. They are easily replaced. The water pump base is gently pried out of the gearcase and replaced with a new one with the oring and base gasket. The shift seal takes a spanner to remove...

    Prop Damage

I used to run aluminum props on my 19' SeaRay I/O, in a shallow bay. The silt and sand was enough to rip 'em up, as she dragged her a$$ when coming on plane. I switched to SS and had no more issues. However, that bay did not have any hard stuff to hit with the SS prop.

    2003 2 stroke 90 fuel pump replacement

Gee, that kit has the gaskets and check valves for the square pumps, plus the diaphragm for the older "figure 8" pumps. Why is that?

    1999 BAYLINER FADED SWITCH PANEL

Get a generic wire color diagram and try to match the colors of your switches. Most will be accurate, and the few that are not, you will need to trace. Remember, a lot of boats had options that had switches. Often these switches are installed regardless, if the option was installed.

    Prop Damage

Stainless Steel props are a whole lot stronger than the aluminum ones. Maybe that will hold up in your lake.

Make sure the shift rod moves up and down easily. The shift rods can bind in the shift pocket cover.

Utube content provider Dangar Marine (based in Australia) is sponsored by Marineengine.com. Dangar often receives parts from them. If they ship down under, one would think they might ship to the UK as well.

    Winterize evinrude 50

So gasoline, fogging oil and 2 cycle oil doesn't bother 'em, but peppermint oil does? I didn't know that. I would expect all multi-cylinder motors would have an exhaust port open over the winter, and my neighborhood is crawling with mice, however, I never even had one in the boat, much less...

    Too big to beach?

Gee, So why is it you do not want to anchor bow out, and anchor the stern to the beach, and use the existing stern ladder? You really want to put an unsightly bow ladder on your cruiser, and have people with sandy feet climb onto the bow and walk across your deck, dragging water toys? That is...

    Winterize evinrude 50

Gee, I'll bite, what can the mice destroy, going in thru the prop? Also, with the nasty gas and oil there, why would they want to go there? You don't expect them to go thru the exhaust system, into the cylinder, thru the port to the crankcase, thru the reed valves and out the carb, and then...

    Prop Damage

That one is too far gone to fix, IMO. That is, I do not think it worth it to pay a shop to weld some aluminum blades on to it. New Aluminum prop housings are pretty cheap (<$100), and you can reuse the hub. If you heat it with a propane torch and tap it on an anvil, you can straighten it a...

    Power trim relay unit

Here are two trim wiring harnesses for Mercury OBs. I would expect you could find one for Johnnyrudes as well. I looked on the crowleymarine site, found the OEM harness for a Mercury motor which has a 2 wire PTT motor, and searched for it on amazon...
