If the nails were corroded so are the pins and there not coming out, you can try forcing them inward to shear the nails ,but...........................................
A replacement housing is highly recommended
you dont have a choke plate if its a TKS carb and you have no active control of the choke if you do have a choke plate
I have to keep the choke in or else the engine will stall.
With a 2 wire motor you reverse the polarity to acitvate up or down, with a 3 wire you have a ground wire ,and Blue and Green motor wires. these use power applied to 1 wire at a time Blue or Green to operate the motor
OMC uses a fork and pin setup, any gear is acceptable but you should put it in F to install it. This way you turn the prop shaft to line up the inputshaft splines

That SS plate is used for motors having A/F in the manifold , the elbow/riser has its own raw water hose
the 165 is not an inline 6 , you would need everything from that purchase, exaust ,front mounts, and depending on you boats year maybe the transom housing from the purchase
