    Is that the starter wire I see in the pic on the left? That looks like a wire for a stereo amp. If so that is not approved wiring either.

    Did you drain the block? Water won’t make noise. Air will.

    I always taped cardboard down on customers boats. I also tell the wife she needs new bath towels, as I take the older ones and use them to lay out my tools on. They keep the tools from rolling around and keeps the deck clean.

    If you already twisted two wrenches, were they the wrong size? Inquiring minds would like to know. also you could drill the set screws if you have good drill bits.     Ever see a twisted drive shaft?

    If you do just get the upper, take the bottom half to a rebuilder and have it gone through. The shavings are in there waiting to destroy the rest. Or simply buy a completely new drive and have fun without worrying about any more issues.

    It would be best if the ducer is wired to a switch. Some can be damaged of run not in the water to much.

    2002 Mastercraft 5.7 harmonic balancer moving in and out

    Seen two break just forward of the main bearing over the years, one blew the pulley off, the other still ran but the pulley wobbled like crazy. Ugly stuff!
