    How Fast, Speedo Selection?

It should do 50 easy. My 95 220 searay is not as strong as yours and it has reached 50. It has a 5.7 in it.

    Time to reassemble

Well I followed the SEI break-in schedule faithfully and have clocked up 10 hours of run time below 3000 rpm, and have run it up to full throttle a bit and I'm happy. The drive still wines but less than before or I got used to it, being only the second boat I ever had with an I/O I don't really...

A bit of penetrating oil may help once the cap is off and you can get to the shank.

    Retirement in another Country

I moved to TN almost 15 years ago. A rural area on the river about 50 miles from larger cities. We like the seasonal weather changes, rolling hills and most of all the river. After spending a lifetime in ATL I wanted some space. About all I can say is don't wait too long, time flies while your...

    Ready to Install Outdrive, However...

I am wondering if it has a sealing ring at all. I suppose you will put a new one in it? Man that salt water is brutal, just looking at all the gunk on the shift lever its a wonder it even moves.

    Rivers & Open Sea

Glad you took the humor well and welcome, but your talking about two extremely different environments. The Vikings were pretty good at getting inland but the channel can be brutal. My best thought would be a strong boat that floats like a seagull.

    Gimbal bearing mystery

That's what I figured too, and probably nice slow pumps to give a bit of time to get thru those small holes. thanks for the tip.

Pumping lake water into water holding tank

Why? you could just put a thru-hull fitting in and hook the pump to that and get water anytime you need it. or even hang the pump over the side when needed plus you could take longer showers.. I get what your wanting just leave the holding tank out of the game, it will get nasty.

    Gimbal bearing mystery

That's what I understand Joe, I was able to get a greaseable one which is what I wanted, but after taking the old one apart, now I'm not so sure. I think it would be best to grease the bearing with the engine running so at least the grease could get worked into the bearing while under pressure...

    Gimbal bearing mystery

I recently changed the gimbal bearing and being the curious sort I took my old bearing apart. The tolerance ring has a gap in it that aligns with a hole in the carrier which in turn aligns with the grease fitting on the housing. When I removed the bearing from the carrier I found a channel...
