Trailer questions for vintage Glastron Tri-hull

Yeah, that trailer look’s like it was lengthened in the past. Look where the winch post bolts on, there is angle iron welded on and painted over. I’d take the advice of looking for a longer trailer. Or you could completely change the younger, but is it rated for the load, and will you have to...

    No power under load

I would hope you aren't revving it to high without having it in gear in the water.

Chris Craft - Which should i purchase

Have them both surveyed. Saying that I'd also take it to a competent shop and have a good mechanic inspect it also. I've seen enough boats that were purchased after a survey and I tell Ya, there is plenty that a surveyor don't see or know. Have one at the shop right now, both drive gimbles are...

3.0 mercruiser ran for 5 min good. Then Just died?

Yeah, if the fuel is old, it won't burn correctly. I'd get rid of it, flush the tank and add some new premium fuel.

I know if you come by my dock with the music up loud, you may get the spud gun Shot at you. I’d take the suggestion you use headphones.

Smell from head / cabin area

I’ve heard that if you put ice in a tank and drive around it scrubbes the tank. I did that on my camper and it worked fairly well.

If you have the macarater, it has a Y valve to switch from overboard to holding tank. Look for that. https://www.jmesales.com/bosworth-sea-lect-yv-094d-l-easy-turning-y-valve-w-acetal-handle/?sku=BWS94CPH&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIs5e4wN749gIV-A-tBh0rGAL3EAQYAyABEgKmIPD_BwE

Is this a ground wire for hydraulic pump?

Looks right. But that bolt looks like the wrong style for that bracket to me.

What is the blower switch for?

Yup, we had a boat blow this last summer. Lucky no one was injured, the wire tried to start one motor, when it didn’t go he hit the other ign, and it exploded. His family was on the dock and he managed to crawl out through the broken windshield. It burnt to the waterline and sank.

    DPS pressure and vac testing

Put some oil in from the top, trim the drive up down and leave sit with the drive level. Remove the lower plug and let it sit. Others say to put in mineral spirits and flush after with oil. Never tried that myself. I’d imagine sea foam would do the trick also.

Any oil is better than no oil. Except for cooking oil, don’t use that. Sorry Bondo, I had to twist your grease gun.

    Outdrive side to side slop

Yeah, that play comes from the steering pin bolts not being serviced in the past. They should be torqued to I *think* 50 foot pounds seasonally. If the play gets real loose the gimbal ring may break when tightening those bolts. If they are kept torqued, it’s never an issue.
