    just wondered if any of you folks ever added an addional belt driven raw water pump, or maybe even removed the stock pump in the outdrive in favor of a belt driven one that is easier to work on? also while were on the subject, is there any advantage to piping the exhaust thru the transom instead...

    question on rotten stringers

    saw several posts on how to repair rotten stringers but i guess my question is why repair them. it seems even if the wood is gone' the fiberglass that encased it would be the real strength of the stringer. just a thought. i have had a few boats with rotted stringers and never noticed any...

    would a vaccum advance be an advantage?

    I have a 1979 chris craft with a 350 cid engine and a conventional ignition with points and condenser. it does not have a vaccum advance. Would this be an advantage to have? by the way, this is a mercruiser

    Mine dosen't have one.. I have an old chris craft scorpion which I bought and rebuilt. seems to run fine but was mainly just curious as to why it dosen't have a vaccum advance...any help, thx
