How can I know what year engine my friend outdrive can fit?

Many? Most? What engines are you looking at installing? Certainly anything from 1980 or so and newer, and plenty of older stuff as well.

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

Just make sure that the shift shoe isn't bent, and that it's parallel to the center line of the boat when the remote is in forward gear

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

How's the shift cable look? If you don't replace, at least remove the core wire and blow out the housing with compressed air

    What is this?

No, that's from removing/installing the drive when the shift lever isn't in fwd. Or the intermediate shaft wasn't in fwd when you tried to install the drive. You *should* be able to straighten out that shift shoe--the curved piece. It should be parallel to the centerline of the boat with the...

Online, I'd have to pay for shipping... Not worth the risk.

Can the base of engine work? Two to bolts under engine are rusted and can

You can do what you want...you'll be replacing the coupler in a year or 2 anyways after that rots.

Boat swamped, let's see if we can get it running...

Alternator was under warranty, I opened it up to see if it was worth returning... Guessing they won't accept this.

Gas Tank on Spitfire 115 TideCraft

Empty the tank through the vent line. Probably won't be able to into the gas supply line because of the anti siphon valve.

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

Are you planning on doing the troubleshooting steps posted by @Fun Times ? Not understanding why you aren't trying to find the actual cause of the one code being thrown

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

Are you looking for reference voltage to the sender or sensor output? I mentioned earlier (and I think AD confirmed) the MAP voltage reading on the lower right is the MAP output

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

Time to start running down that troubleshooting chart that fun times posted. First step is to see whether or not the PCM is getting accurate map readings by plugging in a vacuum gauge. If not, you need to determine what is causing the discrepancy.

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

What does the std engine show for a MAP pressure at 600 rpm? With the TPS disconnected the PCM is using a fuel map that guesses the TP.

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

I'm thinking a bit differently on this. Is that 2.55v the reference voltage, or is it the voltage that the PCM is seeing from the sensor? Easy way to check would just be to rev the engine and see if that voltage fluctuates. To me it seems like the manifold pressure is high at idle, like you...

1990 3.0 Litre: No power to gauges, switches, or engine. Trim works. Help!

Trim issue might be separate, it's on a different circuit than the rest of the electrical. You'll have to trace out where you lose the 12 volts. Easy first steps would be to check the 50 amp breaker in the engine compartment, and your ignition fuse. No gauges means that you're either not getting...

    3.0 Mercruiser Dies On Acceleration

Tough crowd. OP, your tester stops at max pressure and stays there, regardless of what the pressure in the cylinder does after that point. Cylinder will always lose pressure once you stop cranking. A better test of dynamic sealing ability would be a "real" leak down test that tells the rate of...

    Alpha 1 gen 2 5.7L overheating

Your lesson is backward. You should run on muffs, not in a container. 170' at idle with a 140' stat is way too hot.
