    Trim reservoir filling

Fill it not quite full, trim up and down a few times. It's a good idea to put a rag under the trim pump area before trimming. It's because if it was real low, it will foam up and look over-filled, some may come out. You will have to let it sit overnight at that point and check again in the...

    12v Motorguide keeps frying switches.

What size is the wiring from the battery to the switch/trolling motor? Undersized wiring will wreck things rather quickly.

Should you buy 20 year old boat to fix up or 10 year old boat?

Life of a boat is generally 15 years, Most of the time the motors don't need overhaul, unless they were abused. Never touched my motors besides...

    Snapped screws in carb...

Ya know, I have come across a couple over the years that have locktite-Red- on them. UGH. I don't know what people are thinking when they use that in a un-needed situation. The worst I've had to do was use blue on one of mine for the bottom plate that kept coming loose.

    Snapped screws in carb...

Imho, when I find that situation, the carb is more than likely corroded in other way's also. You may not be able to see the damage in those tiny ports, but rebuilding may not cure running issues. I know replacement is expensive but sometimes it's the only option.

Slow leak from top cap plate of Bravo 1

It's not going to hurt putting the perfect seal on there. I'd pressure check now as it will give you all winter to address any issues if they crop up
