    Repair or dump?? Cheap stratos

Soft around the drain hole? The transom is shot, as well as the stringers. The bottom carb appears to have gotten very wet, more than likely sat with the motor tipped up and water sat there. The mice look to have had some fun there also. I'd not have bought it. But thats just me.....

    Help with repair

Wow. Are you sure there isn't supposed to be a garboard plug in there? Or is that a seam? Foldable boats can wear out at the seams, like folding a piece of paper will over time.

    Carb or worse?

Thermostat keeps the motor at operating temp. Heat for the passengers is just an added bonus. I didn't read the entire post but what temp is it running at?

    Crooked boat on trailer

Agree with the above^^. The roller is on the chine, move the rollers out a bit to get it fit properly, both sets need to move out.

Great day on the boat, then ran aground.....What to have checked?

Alas, I snagged bottom twice a few weeks ago with mine. I was going slow but have been boating on the lake for over 30 years. The areas I hit were never an issue in the past. One on the bigger part of the lake, the other by my dock. The water level are low but not as low as other times back in...

    Sanpan Pontoon Electrical Issue

I just re-read your first post. It's fine with he motor running. You have a power feed problem. Time to clean all connections from the battery all the way to the helm. Doubt it's the panel itself.

    Sanpan Pontoon Electrical Issue

*Some* boats have the access panel inside the boat, behind the dash. But on a pontoon, the lower panel usually comes off down by your feet. Then you can get in there.

Water in Cabin, won't dry out

That got very wet. It'll take a long time to dry. it may be possible to add a hatch in that area, as stated, drill a hole in the middle carefully, stick a wire in there and see how deep it goes. You don't want to drill through the bottom of the hull. If there is space under there you can cut a...

    SWITCH FROM QJET4MV TO EDELBROCK

Alot of times when rebuilding a quadrajet, people ignore the float. I learned over the years to simply replace them when doing them. They do get saturated over time and then it will never be right.

Forgot plug, part of the club now

I replace the bell housing nuts every few years. Once the nylock starts to wear, it's pretty east to over torque them and squish out the drive gasket.

    Engine redlining after starting

You need the spark arrestor, per us coast guard requirements. Also the starter and alternator, and carb have to be coast guard approved. And please for my sanity, clean up that wiring mess!

    Engine redlining after starting

More details needed. Did you look at the throttle cable at the carb? Is the throttle plate closed or wide open? Do you have a massive vacume leak??

Older Boats Not Welcome at Lake George, NY

Well true. It is getting harder to find good mechanics nowadays. Plug and play isn't as simple as it should be. Even the diesels that needed no power to run after startup are now all computer controlled. UGH....

    Shorepower fuse?

Get rid of the fuses, replace with a circuit breaker. They are more reliable and easily obtained. You can mount the breaker in a different location out of the weather also. It has to be within a certian distance from the shore plug, but I can't remember the specs right now.
