When slow is faster: Trailering with impatience

Wow, got lucky no one else was Hurt.. Had a guy pass me in southern WI years ago, pulling a 20' box trailer. Interstate speed at 65mph. Dude blew past me like I was standing still. The trailer started whipping around like that, but he regained control. He slowed down and we went by. He then sped...

    Cut through fiberglass hull

Shoot, it happens. One boat I had, the po screwed a new deck on. Yeah the boat was rotten. One drywall screw was through the hull. I found it and just filled the hole with epoxy. Now she's getting a full re-hab.

    Hydrolocked in the parkinglot

One seal keeps the water/debris out, the other keeps the oil in. Regardless, if the seal rides on a good smooth part of the shaft it should be fine. If the shaft has a wear line from the old seal it would be beneficial to have it in a slightly different location.

    Universal M25 Oil Pressure Switch

Can you get anything on it, as in a channel lock pliers? Its shot anyway so banging it up a bit won't matter. Once out you can put a 45° elbow in the block to accept the new sender in a better access position. Just a thought.....

    out drive gear lube

Do whatever you like. I service outdrives all the time. Cleaning the tank is part of the service, they do get gunked up, and yes you can see the milky oil in the tank when you do get a leak.

    OEM or Aftermarket

Oem. Sierra is good for some stuff, electrical comes to mind. They have improved their product line over the years but I'm old school and like oem.

    out drive gear lube

Since you have the oil reservoir , no you can't overfill it. The lube would spill out the reservoir. Sometimes when the reservoir goes empty the float gets stuck on the bottom causing the alarm. It's good practice to remove the reservoir and clean it out every few years.. I think the tank is a...

Volvo penta 5.0 OSI current drain

I'd disconnect the alt first. If the diodes are bad it will backfeed/draw power from the batt. It may charge fine when running but check it out anyway.

    Boat stands help!!

Measure from the hull locations where the stands will be, add the depth of the hull from that location down to the keel. Add one foot to that number for blocking. Stands have a good range of adjustment so that will get you close. Angled ones only need to be at the bow unless midship is at a...

    TV propane regulater

My propane regulater on my 1977 Dodge motorette rv took a dump. I can rebuild it if I knew where to get a kit but, I haven't found one yet. Regardless, is this a high pressure regulater or low pressure? All it runs is the stove/oven, heater and water heater. It's presently got a Helco model...

    Replace or

From my perspective, those don't look flat. Flat would be Shiney all the way around, milled or sanded on a flat surface. Filing don't work that well in my experience. Besides, you have a thin spot so it's just a matter of time before it damages the motor.

    Frozen manual tilt

You will have to dissasemble the tube, clean it up and re-grease and put together. On my 35hp the shifter has to be in fwd to tilt it up, any other place it is locked down.

    Trim issues

The trim fluid will turn pink colors if there is air in it. You may have to check and fill after sitting for the air to settle out. When there is no mire air the oil will stay clear.

Propeller slipping for a while and then worked fine

You can check the prop yourself. Make a mark on the hub, and prop. Run it till it slips. The marks will no longer line up. If you ran through weeds/muck you may have had a bunch of weeds on the prop making it seem like its slipping when its just the weeds causing that. Running hot could be...
