    Two year old fuel

Not sure what MMO would do in this case (nothing to restore bad gas), same with seafoam. One thing I would for sure do is get a sample from the bottom of your tank and make sure you don't have water separated out (check/change your filters as well). If all checked out, and it smelled OK, I'd...

In case anybody was wondering (I opened this thread 3 times before I googled it): https://www.thefreedictionary.com/doddle

NEED HELP QUICK PLS: Replacement Engine choices for 350 MPI

You can get a reman 5.7 for about $3k, and a 6.2L for $4500. As the others alluded to, nothing special about your setup--it's a standard GM block. If I wasn't going to do anything to it, I'd sooner get a used truck engine than a (much more) expensive used boat engine (in fact, I did that).

1994 4.3 Mercruiser fuel pump priming issue

So it catches, then dies? But if you prime it before, then it runs (that would sound like the pressure switch)? Did you confirm that the pump does NOT get 12v once it catches? Curious as to whether you have factory wiring, wondering if someone replaced your mechanical fuel pump with electric at...

    4.3 Mercruiser cold start issues

Well, hell, now I don't know. Didn't jump the switch today, 2 pumps of the throttle and it started first crank, no stumbling or anything once started. Had been sitting since my last post. So presumably the bowl was full.

How to tell what carb I need?!?

Suggest that you do what Chris suggested to determine the cause of your low WOT, especially compression test, plugs, other ignition stuff depending on your setup. Also verify that your tach reading is correct. 3500 RPM WOT means something is seriously wrong with your setup, and you have...

Replacement for perfect seal on drain plugs

Not a ton of trouble, they're brass, but the engine drains are petcock types and just unscrew by hand. More difficult than need be with the limited access. And one of the drains is somewhere in the bilge atm... I generally try to stay away from Teflon tape anywhere around an engine, but didn't...

    What am I missing here?

Hey, it's that british guy again! Thanks, informative as usual. The difference between that prop and the others I have must be just due to the prop design itself...

Replacement for perfect seal on drain plugs

Drained my block for some cold weather. The drain plugs weren't corroded, but were difficult to remove after having put some permatex on them. They were pretty sticky. Anything else I can put on them, to make them a bit easier to remove. Maybe some Teflon tape?

Idk, that's awfully loud for burnt flappers

Mercruiser 3.0 strange sound at low end acceleration

The serpentine belt is always spinning. Try disconnecting it, spin the accessories by hand, and run it a bit without the belt and see if it still makes the noise

Mercruiser 3.0 strange sound at low end acceleration

Hard to diagnose noises on video, but sounds like a gear grind almost, or can of marbles? Wondering if it's a bad alt/water pump/ps bearing? Could disconnect any relevant belts and turn by hand

    GPS speedo/tach?

No. I don't have a modern outboard. I'd want it running off the coil Transoms are not. Phones make crappy gauges

Need guidance on simple wire setup?

Is the toggle switch 3 or 4 wire? The solenoids are relays, so you just need a fused wire from the battery to them, and then low power to the switch to toggle the solenoids.

Need guidance on simple wire setup?

Are you completely rewiring? Yes, your pump would need a relay triggered by the trim switch, which would just need a low power feed. However I'd be surprised if your current setup doesn't have a solenoid at/near the pump

Check for voltage while cranking on the yellow/red wire at the slave solenoid
