    Nobody fishing?

Same in my area, but we gave a number of large factories that employ second and third shift workers. We notice boats heading in around noon time so they can get to their 2nd shift job.

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

The 9 speed auto in my 2015 Jeep has no dipstick for the trans oil. A plug must be removed then a dealer has a special probe that goes in the hole and samples the fluid then tells you when the fluid goes bad , low or needs changed. Only 128 dollars for that service at local Chrysler...

    Lithium ion batteries

LifePo4 batteries are designed for long steady draws, such as a trolling motor, or running lights, radio, accessories of every type. The hard quick draw of a starter is not ideal for the overall health of these batteries so it is not recomended. Powering inverters in travel trailers is an...

    Family of 5, 19ft or 21ft?

When people crash their boat, how does it become a liability to the mfgr ? I know, people sue for everything and the lawyers take the case. When are we gonna learn, we can't fix stupidity ?

DeWalt corded drill DW106 Type-2 keyless chuck, bits slipping out?

Make yourself a little fixture to help you grind those flats. They don't have to be perfect to work. Small, little drill bits can be a real pain, but bigger ones are not that bad.

DeWalt corded drill DW106 Type-2 keyless chuck, bits slipping out?

Easy enough to grind three equally spaced flats on the shank.

    anchor line

Surprised you got that kind of life from poly rope. I also prefer the double braid as it is much easier on the hands than twisted rope. You didn't say the cost but whatever it is, it sounds like good stuff.

    Tilt ram piston removal

If you can support the piston head itself, tap on the shaft and it should drive out of the piston head. The pins are probably used to keep shaft from turning. A press might even work better if you have access to one. Any machine or die shops around, they will probably have a press and might...

    anchor line

A lot depends on use, salt or freshwater only. Can't say I have ever worn thru an anchor line, but I only boat in fresh water and my line is stored in a locker, never left in the sun. I would ask if it is a Chinese um brand or a good quality american.

DeWalt corded drill DW106 Type-2 keyless chuck, bits slipping out?

Far more popular today than they were just 10-15 years back for this same reason !

DeWalt corded drill DW106 Type-2 keyless chuck, bits slipping out?

Drilling into steel needs a good bite on the drill bit. Many over tighten the chuck and over time the chuck gets ruined. As a retired toolmaker, I often ground three small flats on my drill shank to give the jaws a place to bite into without overtightening. Using the hex thanks drill bites...

    Compression

Motors that have sat unused for long periods of time sometimes has the rings stick and causes low compression readings. Thus the reason for using the power tune and other additives. Once the motor is running, try another comp test....results could be different !

What should the piston psi be on late 70s 2hp outboards?

Correct, never check WOT in a can, can cause engine damage, not worth the risk...for just running and idle speed adjustments it is fine

What should the piston psi be on late 70s 2hp outboards?

Run them in a garbage can or other large tank of water. When you can get on the water, why not swap props and see if they push the same. Use a GPS to get accurate readings. When your only going 5-6 mph, it is really hard to tell.

    Family of 5, 19ft or 21ft?

I am an aluminum hull fan, glasses are to much work and after 25 years, no one wants them. Aluminium m boats carry a much higher resale value and require less HP and fuel to operate. Keep in mind, people don't like riding in the bow in a chop or on a cool day. Also the danger of burying that...
