    When I pulled the head off my 1988 Yamaha 50Hp, I discovered the gasket had been leaking and the piston is damaged at that point. The piston is partially eaten away exposing the ring. It looks like it partially "melted." <br /><br />Question: Might replacing the gaskets be all I need to do...

    1988 Yamaha 50 idle and top end problems

    1988 Yamaha 50ELG made a buzzing noise and quit after having run full open for maybe 10 minutes. Upon starting, wouldn't low idle. With a quick shift was able to get running, but only would run at medium speed. Top end again brought buzz and quit. Did this serveral times while getting back...
