I have a 96 Bayliner 1750 with a Merc 3.0 and an alpha 1 gen 2. After finding gear oil in the bilge, and no leaks in the reservoir hose I pulled the drive and found oil in the bellows. Next, I popped of the top cap and found the top bearing was toast.
