Dockedge mooring whips protect your boat from damage by securely holding it away from the dock’s edge. Rough waters from passing boat traffic or natural causes harmlessly rock the boat instead of slamming it against the dock.

Installation is easy. Line up the whip bases with the 4 1/2 cleats on your boat. Drill pilot holes and secure the base with lag screws. Assemble the two sections of each whip making sure to twist the top portion so that it securely seats in the bottom section. Thread the lines through the top pulley and insert the whip into the base. Tighten the T-knob to hold the whip in place. Measure 18 inches from the base and install the cleat. Secure the free end of the mooring line around the whip cleat and fasten the looped end to the boat cleat as shown.

Now a simple pull of the free end of the mooring line will position your boat safely out of harm’s way. Make sure the mooring lines aren’t too tight or that the whips aren’t under too much tension. Properly adjusted whips hold the boat safely away from the dock.
