OK you asked for it, what do I do when I buy an outboard?
1.Drain and fill lower unit gear oil.
2.When jerryjerry05,says it's 50-1 I believe him.
3.What temp doe's the stat open, in a pan of warming hot water? less than 180F. correct.
4.install a new impeller the first day you launch the boat in the spring. it doesn't have to be the exact day, you get the point, new rubber every year.
5. Get muffs where water goes in both sides of lower unit. Always start boat before you go to the ramp on muffs.
6.Always keep your battery's on a battery maintainer 24/7, when not using the boat, battery's last longer, and the motor always start's maybe..
7.Always premix your two stroke oil and gas, before you pour it in the tank, I know you only have one tank.
8.Always have a ten micron water separating spin on filter, pour it in a metal can and burn it at the end of the season, grease gasket spin it back on for next season.I know your boat and motor is to small for this.
8.change all on motor fuel filters, grease all fittings, check every inch of wire, all the grounds are tight,
9. Happy safe boating.
