I received the attached photo last night. I went out this morning and everything checks out… plenty of oil, no stored codes, and good oil pressure that climbs with throttle. The only thing not checked was a higher power setting because it was on a lift in a slip. Boat and motor are 2 years old with 77 hours.

Shouldn’t a warning like this throw a code that would be stored in the computer?

When did Mercury quit building throttle controls that allow moving the throttle independent of the shifter? No disengage button on the pivot on this one.

Should probably check this in the water under load and at full RPM. If this is a problem of too much oil, restricted oil pickup or a failing sensor/wiring issue. It might only show up at higher RPMs.

It does and it did. Just need the right scan tool to see it. Scan tool will also tell you what RPM this happened at.

They didn't, there will be a way to select neutral if it's a Merc control. Post a pic and we can tell you how to do it. Or read the owners manual.

I will try to remember to take a picture when I go back. I think it looks like a standard side mount ski boat control.

I was just notified the low pressure warning came back on so I may be back down there Tuesday to run the boat on the lake to see if I can duplicate it. Or I may just tell them to take it to the local Mercury shop and let them deal with it. I don’t go on the lake during summer holiday weekends.
