Hello all,
I am working on my Speedifour and I am having problems. I can get it to run for a minute or so in the tank, but the right side (as your looking from the back of the engine) has oil/fuel coming out of the plug holes. I have good spark from both plugs (just put in new coil, points, condenser, and plugs). The engine has good compression. The left side looks good, both plugs warm, not overly wet, and no extra fuel. Could this be a flooding issue from the carburetor? If so, rebuilding it wouldn't be a problem, just not my favorite thing to do. I have both needles set at 2 1/2 turns out, is this a good starting setting? Could it be an issue with the reeds? I ripped the engine apart, and found the reeds to be in good conditions, however I can see a sliver of light between some of them. Should they seal tight? I have this engine so close, but yet issues I am just not sure on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
