I have no power at the ignition switch and no power on the power tilt trim located on my throttle. My inline fuse from the battery was tested and it is ok. There is power at the top of the solenoid but none at the bottom? Does the ignition system derive its power from the solenoid? What do I do next?

look near the solenoid for a small red connector, red line line fuse holder. there is a short 20 amp fuse it it. 99.9 % it is blown.

Re: 1985 90hp Johnson no power at the ignition

Thank you so much for the reply. I have been racking my brain all day trying to find out what is going on with that motor. I pulled one of those connectors apart and found that it was only a plug of some sort earlier so I gave up on the idea that there was any fuses in those casings. Turns out it is burnt. I will not get to it until the morning because the stores are all closed here.
Thanks again. The picture really took the guess work out.

I had exactly the same thing happen to my 96 90Hp.

When I removed the cowling I noticed that a plug wire was off,,,, must have forgotten to put it back on when I cleaned and regapped the plugs.

Would the plug wire off cause the fuse to blow?

BTW mine had a 25amp fuse? Should it be a 20?

Your welcome saluta
That fuse can be hard to find, especially in the middle of the lake!
