1986 15 hp No Ignition

Good afternoon,
I am working on a mid-eighties Force 15 hp.
I have no ignition spark on either cylinder as tested with an air gap spark tester, even with air gaps down to an eighth inch.
There is, however, some current being generated (because you can hold the tips of the spark tester and zapped), just not enough to break down air.
Is this an indication of bad condensers?
Any help is appreciated.

Pull the flywheel and clean/ file the points
​Usually 2 condensers don't go bad at once.

Thank you. I'll give it another try.
I get the concurrent failures thing. That's what's got me, even with the points.
