Novice to ownership...so far I converted points with hot spark conversion...changed the plugs...added sum dress ups n re-did sum upholstery...going to replace the impeller (kit is on its way)...how do I identify the outdrives gear ratio and determine the proper prop (not sur the 1 on it is rite)? Is there any difference in performance with LH n RH ( I know I can switch the drive between the 2)

What size is on there now?
How big is the boat? A 17ft. takes a different prop than a 21.
The 17 should be about a 19p the 21 a 17p
The market is flooded with aftermarket props.
Get the factory one.
The 125 needs the big sweep of the Volvo prop blades.

A friend asked me to look into why his boat wasn't performing the way it should.
I went through comp, spark, timing and the fuel system. NOTHING

As I got out of the boat I noticed an old prop on the ground.
Then saw a new aftermarket on the boat.
I asked if they had just changed the prop? Yup.
The aftermarket had the same pitch but shorter chopped off blades.
Changed it back and the boat was back to normal.

Thanx for the info gentlemen...mine is a 21'. She has michigan prop on ther now (not sur of the pitch) I did notice a definite size difference in the aftrmrkt vs factory ive seen...any tips on gettn the outdrives drain plug out? went to chang the oil n tht thing ddnt wna budg
