Getting ready to install this rebuild in the next few days and while making new wood for the front motor mounts I set the mount itself on the aluminum rail that the engine is mounted on only to see that the holes do not line up. In fact the holes are nearly an inch closer than the mount holes are. The wood under the steel mounts is drilled at a steep angle for some reason and three of the four bolts of the front mounts were not entering the holes more than 1/4 inch ! Does anyone know why Starcraft would mount this engine like this and should I copy what they did to re install the engine or drill new holes that are straight up and down. ?????
thanks

because the mounting bolts were shot in with an impact to get the boat out the door.

OK , so I just drilled the new wood just like the original and am using longer lag bolts. I have not bought plugs yet , anyone have any suggestions ??: I would like to run the engine before I install it to blow out any remaining crap inside the exhaust manifolds but am a little confused about how that is done since this is a closed system. Would I leave the cylinder shaped holding tank off and hook up a water hose to one of the 1" water lines ?? I dunno DSC02010.JPG
