1990 Force 90hp power trim problems

I am having trouble getting my engine to trim down. It is all the way to the top and just clicks when you press the button down. The battery is good and you can hear the motor trying to go when you try to trim it up but it can't because it's all the way up. Any suggestions??? Thanks!!!

Try switching the up (blue) and the down(green) wires on the 2 relays that feed the power trim unit. Then try it. If it now only goes down, then one of the relays is bad and needs replacing.

I had a similar problem. I took the trim motor apart cleaned the brushes and sanded the armature. Worked like a champ after that. Mine was doing the same thing. It was clicking like it wanted to move,but wouldn't. Hope that works for you.
