I have a 1993 Johnson 115hp. I need a powerhead I do have a 1984 Johnson 115hp. Will the power heads interchange?

There may be issues with the length / fit of the driveshaft into the crankshaft.--Spline is the same count.-------Other than that it will fit.-----Sorry----I have no idea how big your workshop is.-----Or what your skills are.-----It can be done in my opinion.-----Both these models suffer from broken ring syndrome.-----I would rebuild the 1993 model myself.

Thank you for your reply. I have rebuilt the 1993 once already. And my newborn wants $1500 ,to do it again cause there some much melted metal in the heads. That is why I asked about the 1984 motor. If it would fit the same bolt pattern of the power head on the 1993.

The shift rod connection is probably different due to the intake manifold. The 1984 has a narrow bell crank I believe and the 1993 is thicker. The manifold changes would result in switching out some of the ignition components. I might be wrong, but I ran into a similar situation years ago, Look before you leap, the lower shift rods are definitley different.

Hey there Happy, You posted about repairs to your boat.
For some reason, I can't respond to that thread.

But, there is a very active STARCRAFT forum here on iboats, filled with projects, rebuilds, and repairs.

Here is the link, you will find the guys there very helpful.
