I’m hoping for some help or advice on how to fix a crack in the floor of the ski locker/compartment of my 1994 Rinker Captiva. We noticed some water getting into the ski locker and didn’t seem to be draining to the bilge quickly so we pulled back the carpet and noticed this crack/hole in the floor. Not really sure how to repair. Will a sealant work for now? Or refiberglass with resin? Or something else?

The wood in the opening looks dark and very wet. Putting anything over it will just be a (very temporary) band aid if the wood underneath is wet/rotten. Brace yourself for everyone here to tell you it's time to investigate the status of your transom/stringers/floor by drilling core samples, and that you almost surely are going to find it's time for a gut/restore.

Thanks! We had our local marina check it out when we first bought it a couple weeks ago and they drilled some core samples and didn’t find anything concerning. We’re thinking this particular area is especially wet since there’s carpeting that was saturated and that was sitting on top of the wood.
