There must be other people out there that still are using these engines. I've had this boat for over 12 years and because of the many ignition problems I had during the first 2 years, I converted it to electronic ignition and have never had a problem in 10 years. This year after getting the boat from my covered storage facility, I noticed when I removed the engine cover to get it ready for the year, the engine was covered in condensation, probably created by the lousy winter and wet spring here in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada. Normally I have already topped up the tank, oil was changed end of season, put the muffs on and the battery in and it will start with a few turns, this year nothing. Checked fuel, pumping well, took coil wire off and lots of spark, I've had some 60's British cars, so I thought about the havoc that condensation can do to distributor caps, points, etc., I pulled the cap and it was full of condensation too! Dried everything out and it started on the first turn! This will have to be a 2 part series, because the engine quit on me bringing it from the launch to my dock, it restarted okay, but I had more fun with it before I solved the problem. If you are interested in finding out the solution, just answer the post.
