I have found a 2006 Evinrude Etech 90 HP still in the crate. They want $6800.00 for it. After I buy new cables and controls, the prop and a tach. It will be about $7900.00. That the dealer rigging it on the boat.
I have a 1995 Fisher Pontoon boat that weighs 2289 lbs not adding any equipment or gas (or the kitchen sink after the wife packs). My question is I know it should push the boat good at high throttle, but how will this motor run when just running very slow around the lake? Will it fill up with gas and want to stall? Will it just leak the unburned gas through the exhaust? Should stay away from this motor because it has sat since 2006 with nobody using it?

How do I find out what some of the service items are? Are there many? Is it not a good chose to buy this?

That is an excellent choice for you.The Etec is so clean it is the only 2 stroke allowed on lake Tohoe. The 90 Etec on a 2,000lbs dry. 23 ft Premier pontoon gets almost 24 mph at 8 GPH (gallons per hour)Thats below the rule of thumb 10% of hp figure. At about 3,000 rpm 12mph. it gets about the same gph 2.09as a 50 on a similar boat at 12 mph.Your performance may vary depending on the setup.
