23.5 sunrunner

My boat runs max rpm at 3600 rpm ant only 26mph. Is this normal. It's got a 5L, with omc cobra outdrive. Boat is 23.5' with a cuddy. Any way to get it up to 35-40mph. Or somewhere close to that. Thanks.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Either the motor needs a tune up, or better fuel supply, or the prop is too tall,....
