I just got the boat back from winter storage. I am having a hard time starting it I will give a few examples what it is doing.

1. When trying to start I am giving it 1/4 throttle - nothing I give it 3/4 and it seems to fire out of the spark arrestor.
2. When it did start it would run good with the throttle open but it would not idle below 5,000.
3. Once the engin cut out it would be hard to start again and same thing would happen

Could just need a full tuneup and fuel filters. Does your 3.0L have a year? better yet a serial number?

It is in a 2001 Bayliner I will have to check for the number.

Don't really need the SN for that year. They are all basically the same after the late 90's.

When was the last full tuneup? If you don't remember, you are way overdue. Weak spark will sure make them hard to start.

If you don't have a water separating fuel filter installed, you might want to get one. The 3.0L is the only engine that doesn't come with one from the factory.

That and the carb could be a mess inside if it sat without stabilizer.
