72 nautaline

I own a 72 nautaline that the engine needs repaired. To pull the engine do I need to pull the boat out of the water, its a ford 302. I've been told the out drive is a dana drive made by mercruser. If I spend the money to rebuild the engine should I rebuild or change the outdrive to a newer one. And if I change to a new one what one could I use.

Welcome to iboats More info. needed.....If you post your serial # it would be much easier to figure out exactly what engine drive you have 188, 225, etc..... You will have to pull the boat from the water, to perform the work... JK

Ayuh,.......<br /><br />Need More Info,......<br /><br />While Mercruiser Did use the Ford engines for awhile back then,........<br /><br />Mercruiser Never built the Dana Drives,.............<br /><br />Dana manufacturing Did........<br />And,... Parts are about Non-Exsistent............<br /><br />You'll be needing to Replace the Whole Driveline...........<br /><br />And,... Yes,.... The boat HAS to come Out of the Water............
