Hi guys.. I'm new to this forum so thanks in advance for reading and responding. I have an 87 Force 50. It is on my duck hunting rig, so it takes more than normal abuse. Saturday it got screwed up.

Before Saturday, always worked fine. It has the 2 piston's. (2" for trim, 6" for tilt, (approximately). The 2" trim piston appears to work ok. It will raise and lower the motor upon switch activation. The 6" won't hold pressure. The pump runs, it just feels like a valve or leak is open that won't allow pressure to build. No visible damage. No "one incident" that I can remember. It was cold (15 deg F) so freezing could have been an issue, but it worked fine to begin with. Have had it in the garage since then (50 deg F) and it still won't work.

I ordered the clymer manual. It'll be here Wednesday. Must have it fixed by Friday for another trip out, so any advice or things to check would be appreciated.

All lines are tight, with no visible leaking. I've searched all the forums for previous responses and couldn't find any answers.

Could this be
1. An "air lock" issue?
2. Cracked inner part in the pump?

Thanks, Cory

Re: 87' Force 50 Power Tilt Problem

Could be a number of things...something as simple as the piston coming loose of the Ram or the check valve assembly comming apart. Both can easily be repaired.

More expensive fixes would include having to replace the entire ram or the pump.

TMD
