Hi guys,
First many thanks, this site has bailed me out many times.. Here's what's happening..
Picked up a used outboard for my nephew as outlined above. Latley upon initial start up (always starts great and idles without issue) However when throttle is increased the motor studders a bit initially and recovers quickly as long as throttle is dropped back.. Ounce warmed up no issues with wide open throttle other than lack of top end speed (Would push 14ft Jon @ 20 mph lately 15 on a good day. Really just want to see that my nephew isn't going to make matters worse as he's out almost daily..
So far I've addressed the following
1. New Fuel ( higher octane and new tank and lines)
2. New carb
3. rebuild kit for fuel pump
4. new plugs gapped to factory specs
5. water pump (stream is perfect)
6. compression is 114 in both cylinders..
Any input for this weekend project is much appreciated!
