Hi all, after blowing up my father in laws 15hp Johnson, we tried out his mid to high 80's 8hp Evinrude. Looks brand new in and out and started on second pull after sitting for years (he oils the cylinders yearly). Now for the issue, idles perfectly like a kitten, however when in gear and on the throttle every 10-20 seconds the engine bucks. What i mean by bucks is it runs and sounds perfect except it pauses fairly violently (bucks) every 20 odd seconds. During this time, the water stream does not miss a beat, either does the sound of engine, however, it sounds like the motor is running but the transmission stops for a brief second then goes back to running like a champ. Any ideas ?
